Lloyd co-founded insurance broking firm Lloyd Thompson in 1981, and today Jardine Lloyd Thompson is a leading risk management adviser and insurance and reinsurance broker. JLT is also a major provider of employee benefit administration services and related consultancy advice.

Lloyd was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and grew up in Mombasa, Kenya. This year Lloyd will be returning to the BTRDA Rally Championship driving a Ford Focus WRC prepared by BTR based in Castleford. Adrian Cavenagh from Brecon will co-drive. With the experience of events from past years, having finished strongly at the end of 2009, the crew will be serious contenders in this years championship. Most importantly the crew has every intention of finishing ahead of team-mates Andrew Barnes and Guy Simmons.
