Lloyd co-founded insurance broking firm Lloyd Thompson in 1981, and today Jardine Lloyd Thompson is a leading risk management adviser and insurance and reinsurance broker. JLT is also a major provider of employee benefit administration services and related consultancy advice.

Lloyd was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and grew up in Mombasa, Kenya. 2012 will see Lloyd and his co-driver Adrian Cavenagh having a serious attempt at challenging for the lead in the BTRDA Rally Championship. They will be competing on six qualifying events in England and Wales plus an appearance on Neath Valley and Tempest Rallies. The team will be run by Melvyn Evans Motorsport.

Melvyn Evans and Julian Reynolds have purchased a Subaru Impreza WRC S11 which Lloyd will drive this year. During 2005 the ex-Prodrive car was driven by Petter Solberg in Cyprus, Australia and Finland where he finished 4th overall.

This maybe Lloyd's last year competing for a championship and he is looking forward to this challenge especially having his business partner Andrew Barnes as team-mate. They will be having their own personal battle!!!
