Season's BTRDA finale

Yet again John Lloyd and team mate Andrew Barnes competed the five special stages on the Cambrian Rally within seconds of each other, on one stage despite each driver having their own problems they shared the same stage time. The final round of the Silverstone BTRDA Rally Championship saw crews travel to the North Wales holiday resort of Llandudno where the sun shone on the days five stages using the classic forestry road in Clocaenog and Penmachno Forests.

Many crews competing on next weeks Wales Rally GB entered the Cambrian Rally to shakedown their cars. Spectators flocked to the stages to see Miko Hirvonnen in action as course car driving his Ford Focus WRC. The event was won by Mats Ostberg driving a Subaru Impreza WRC. Lloyd and Barnes secured 11th and 12th place with only 14 seconds separating the two Insurantz Ford Focus WRC's.

Will Nicholls who was challenging for the BTRDA 2009 title rolled his Subaru Impreza on the first stage of the rally leaving David Wright to win the championship. John Lloyd finished 11th and Andrew Barnes 13th in the series.

This year's BTRDA Rally Championship may be over however the Insurantz Ford Focus' will be out in action on their final event this year, the JLT Rally South of England Tempest Rally. The team have competed on this event for many years as it is convenient for the teams supporters to attend the event. This year JLT Rally are supporting the event as well as competing. The event based at the Pegasus Village in Aldershot on Saturday 7th November will see competitors head off to the special stages from 9am , the days action will finish at approximately 16.30hrs.
