Lake District challenge
The Malcolm Wilson Rally, the second round of the Silverstone Tyres BTRDA Rally Championship held in Cumbria was a strong challenge for the Insurantz Focus WRC's in the torrential rain which fell during the afternoon stages.

At the end of the day after 43 miles of forestry stages in Grizedale and Greystoke John Lloyd and Adrian Cavenagh were relieved that they had reached the finish after losing over 8 minutes when they had an electrical problem on the fifth stage which caused the engine to stop. After losing so much time and struggling with no windscreen wipers on two stages their spirits were certainly dampened.

Andrew Barnes and Guy Simmons had a clear run through the stages in their Focus WRC finishing 14th overall and third in class and are now lying 7th in the Championship. Following a dismal rally Lloyd is in 14th place.

The event was won by Steve Perez and Kevin Rae in a 2007 Ford Focus WRC, the championship is led by Tim Pearcey driving a Mitsubishi Evo 9.

The team's next outing is the Somerset Stages Rally based in Minehead on Saturday 25th April 2009.
