Jimmy McRae joins the JLT Rally Team for Ulster
Five times former British Rally Champion Jimmy McRae returns to Britain's leading rally series when he competes on the Ulster Rally driving the Jardine Lloyd Thompson supported Subaru Impreza N11.

John Lloyd who is committed to this year's British Rally Championship is unable to compete in Ulster due to business commitments. " I realised that there was no way that I would be able to take time out of the office to travel to Ulster. I then made a call to Jimmy who has driven my cars on many previous occasions. In 2003 he finished Wales Rally GB as the leading British privateer driving my Group A Subaru Impreza. It will be great to see Jimmy driving the car which is run by Geoff Jones Motorsport and I will be tracking his progress during the event.

Jimmy is a hero in Ireland having won the Circuit of Ireland five times and he has won the Ulster Rally on three previous occasions in 1981 (Opel Ascona), 1986 (Metro) and 1988 (Sierra Cosworth). Pauline Gullick will be co-driving with the sister car driven by Andrew Barnes and Neil Dashfield," said John Lloyd.

The Philip White Tyres Ulster Rally is based in Armagh and starts on Friday afternoon 1st September finishing on Saturday evening 2nd September after 123 miles of stages on Ulster's classic stages.
