Having won last year's event John Lloyd and Adrian Cavenagh driving the JLT Subaru WRC led the four wheel drive competitors from the Rushmoor Arena start of the 2011 JLT Tempest Rally. Due to recent heavy rain conditions were very slippy. Lloyd was soon on the pace recording a second fastest and two third fastest times. Unfortunately the two stages run in the Ash forest were so fast that Lloyd beat the bogie (minimum time) on both occasions.

During the afternoon stages Lloyd experienced some technical problems which dropped him from third to fifth overall. There was a fierce battle between Lloyd, Rob Swann and Jason Pritchard with only seconds separating them.

It was a family victory for Mick O'Brien and his son Dan who finished first and second respectively in their Ford Focus WRC's.

Lloyd's next outing is the East African Safari Classic which starts in Mombasa on Sunday 20th November.
