Lloyd raises money for Zambian Orphanage Appeal

The East African Safari Classic Rally starts in Mombasa on Sunday 20th November. The fifty one entries including many former World Rally Champions will then face the challenge of 4100kms of classic roads in Kenya and Tanzania over the next nine days returning to Mombasa for the finish on Monday 28th November. Due to recent rain the roads will be very rough and there is already talk of some sections being cancelled due to bridges being washed away and unable to be repaired prior to the event.

Lloyd's Ford Escort Mk2 has arrived in Mombasa and the team from Viking Motorsport will be arriving in Kenya during the next 10 days to make final preparations for the event. Lloyd has competed on this event three times finishing fourth overall in 2005 driving a Porsche 911.

As a father of twins Lloyd has always taken time on this event to visit local orphanages and schools with fellow competitors who have raised money for equipment that will brighten the children's lives. This year Lloyd will raise money for the Serenje Orphans Appeal in Zambia. This connection is through his son Eddie whose school is raising funds for this worthwhile cause. Lloyd will carry decals on his car and it is hoped that donations will be raised for this charity. For further information please visit www.zoaonline.org
