John Lloyd and Adrian Cavenagh driving the Subaru Impreza WRC were straight on the pace of the opening stages of the Dukeries Rally held on Saturday 11th June based at Southwell Racecourse.

It was good to see Lloyd enjoying his rallying competing alongside British leading drivers in the Silvertstone BTRDA Rally Championship. Unfortunately there was a delay of almost an hour on the second stage following an off road excursion of an earlier running car. This caused concern for the JLT Rally Team crew as Lloyd who was a late entry was working to a very tight time schedule with commitments later that evening. As this delay could not be made up the crew had no choice but to withdraw from the rally after stage eight and miss the final stage. If Lloyd had finished he would have been in the top ten.

The event was won by Andy Burton driving his Peugeot with Steve Perez's Ford Focus WRC in second place.

After such a fine run in the Sherwood Forest and learning more about the Subaru WRC Lloyd is now looking forward to his next outing, the Swansea Bay Rally on 16th July.
